I have held various research positions at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), detailed as follows:
Through these years, I have conducted studies in air and land pollution and directed the environmental research in the department.
I am now the Director of the Environmnetal & Earth Sciences Division, where I am responsible for 52 employees comprising of engineers, scientists, lab technicians in the field of land and marine pollution, hydraulic and coastal engineering, remote sensing and desertification studies. I direct and design career development plans, on-job-training needs and in-house training workshops for the staff.
I have represented the Kuwait government in several international meetings and local conferences. I have also presented papers in twenty-eight conferences. Besides, I have participated in seventeen research technical committees. I am the author of five environmental books. In my scientific career, I have completed twenty technical reports.
I have generated research proposals and have been a project leader and task leader for several research projects in air pollution modelling, environmental impact assessment and desertification studies. I have also written many scientific papers, published in professional journals.
I served as a consultant on environmental issues for the Kuwaiti Parliament during the period 1993-1996. In October, 1996, I was nominated by the Kuwait Government to be a member of the Higher Council, Environment Public Authority.
