This book presents a collection of selected papers
and review articles on air pollution. These papers were originally presented
at the Workshop “Ambient Air Pollution” held in Kuwait on February 5-9, 2005
and organized by the Arab School for Science and Technology (ASST). The
selected papers have been expanded and peer-reviewed for inclusion in this
book. The editors wish to thank Dr. Ali A. Al-Shamlan,
Director of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), for his
dedicated support in advancing the objectives of the Arab School for Science
and Technology (ASST) through completion of this workshop. The editors are deeply indebted to Dr.
Jasem Besharah, Mr. Adnan A. Al-Abdulmuhsen and ASST staff who maintained
outstanding support throughout the preparation stages for the workshop and
the proceedings. Thanks are also due to the scientific committee for
